Candied Almonds

Candied Almonds

The perfect hostess gift for your next holiday gathering!

  • 1/2  lb.  almonds

  • 8 tsp. sugar

  • 8 tsp. brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F. In a small bowl, stir together the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt and set aside.

  2. Separate the egg white from the yolk and place the white in a large bowl and whisk until light and frothy. No clear liquid should remain in the bottom of the bowl. Add the vanilla and whisk again until incorporated.

  3. Add the almonds to the egg whites and stir to coat. Turn almonds onto a parchment lined baking sheet and add the sugar spice mixture toss to coat.

  4. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring once half way through. After baking, allow the almonds to cool, during which time coating will solidify into a crunchy candy shell.

Recipe Notes:
Store almonds in an airtight container. Nuts will last about 1 month at room temperature.
